Capturing Alaska’s Mountains in Pictures

“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.”

-Isaiah 54:10

Pictures can canpture a thousand words, as the saying goes. Words can transporting us to different times and worlds; bringing nations together, or tearing them apart. Words are powerful; but a picture can sometimes speak more than all the words in the world can.

Pictures capture an art; the art of the person in front of the lense, their feelings. It can capture the feel of mystic lakes and mountains. Tell a story through eyes. Pictures speak where words cannot.

Just like photos, mountains are a thing to be seen and marveled at. They “ask us to ponder our inner being.” As Jane Kirkpatrick said in her book “Everything she didn’t say.” Mountains also draw us to find their creator—God. Through mountains, people, sense the dawn of time, have found consoles in them. That is why I wish to share a glimpse of the mountains I breath under with you…

As the mountains reflect themselves in the puddles, so one can reflect and see oneself here; in the quite with God.
Nature, animals, and people all in one breathtaking scene.
Sometimes, to capture a photo, you must look at it from a different angle.
I really like how this captured a feeling~ that is every photographer’s wish; to capture the feelings of whatever is on the other side of the lense.
No face will sometimes tell a better story.
“The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from…”
– C.S Lewis, Till We Have Faces
Sun, mountains and a dog—-some of the best happinesses in the whole world!
Ice from the glaciers breaks loose as more snow falls in the mountains. The ice flows through the rivers, freezing them into solid ice-packs
Often, non-purposeful posinging is the very best kind of posing.
As my hat says—Alaska.
Laying on the ice is always worth it-unless you break through of course!
Sisters make stories together 💜
His face tells the story; The object stands out.
“It was when I was happiest that I longed most…The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing…to find the place where all the beauty came from.”
― C.S. Lewis, Till We Have Faces
In the darkest season of the year, a splash of sunshine!
The calming…the peace…the joy…the beauty…the light
“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.”

― Albert Camus

“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” -Isaiah 52:7

My Life as a Photographer

“Life’s a journey and an adventure, make memories from it.” ~Grace Tiberend Hey reader, welcome to my photography and writting spot! At sixteen years old, I’m a freelance photographer, writer, poet, novelist and dancer (including baton, figure skating and ballet.) I’m so in love with the outdoors, especially the mountains of Alaska, where I currently live when not traveling with a pencil, paper and camera. You can find me playing sports of all kinds; reading avidly in a tree or amongst pillows eating anything that contains PB and chocolate, and the camera forever around my neck. Jesus is my PASSION, more than I’m crazy about history, and He’s the true author of all my writings, as you’ll soon find out! Sharing Christ’s light with the world EVERY SECOND is my life mission! I enjoy creating, so if you need someone to create: -business cards, t-shirts, logos (business merchandise) -edit your photos and videos -writing protects & reviews And other projects, you can visit my profile, or hire me on @Grace T. Also find me on @Grace Tiberend I hope you enjoy my blogs of photography tips, photo shoots, stories, poems with a background, how to edit using photo apps —and much more! 1. I don’t even know–my younger sister wants to live in Alaska (she has a blog on animals and conservation at and I would love to see the scenery, go to the north-most point to say I’ve been to the top of the country LOL and I would love to do a road trip through the United States and Canadian provinces, so…I don’t really know specific places! 🙂 Do you recommend any?

I’ve done a road trip through Canada, all the lower forty eight….twice! It is very neat to do, and you get LOADS of photography!
Well, I would def. recommend British Columbia, Florida, New York Watertown, North Dakota…. eh, they really are all super neat! Thank you for asking my opinion!
I think I would prefer international travel myself. 🙂

              1. Ten, wow! Sounds amazing! Yes, all girls. The most “epic” road trip I’ve done is probably a spontaneous one my friend and I took in September, driving from Atlanta to Toronto. So fun 😍 There’s just something about driving through and seeing all the scenery up close (as opposed to flying) that I love.

                1. I’ve been in Atlanta, as I used to live down there, but Toronto, would love to go there! And what an epic (for real) trio going from one of those to the other, would be!! ❤️♥️ And with a friend—anwesome!!
I still love road trips, though I had my first flying experience a couple months ago, and it made me feel very sick and stressed etc!
My favorite part of trips is at night when everyone is asleep, the driver is the only one awake, and all the windows are open to let in the quite breeze and I can just lay there, listening to the rain or the radio. 🙂 Nothing like it!!
